Happy Friday! I hope everyone’s excited and gearing up for the long weekend. First off, I wanted to take a second and say THANK YOU to my amazing friend/photographer, Margaux (check out her Instagram here). She shoots the majority of the photos on this blog, and I’d be totally lost without her talent. So thank you, Margs, for being willing to go on impromptu photoshoots after long work days, and for not complaining about my messy car (aka my traveling closet/changing room). I’m super lucky to have your help.

As promised, here’s slouchy jean look #2 – this time, I went in a more buttoned-up/dressy direction than yesterday’s outfit. A bright silk top helps balance out the distressed denim – and, even though the top is loose and unstructured, it looks pulled together with a casual tuck (hello, waistline). Once again, simple pointed toe pumps will lengthen the legs and add a level of sophistication – to offset the casual slouch. Plus, piling on accessories (like a crystal statement necklace and patterned clutch) will elevate the outfit even more.

Now go get yourself a pair of boyfriend jeans! They’re so freaking comfortable, too. Plenty of options/brands in the “shop the post” section below!

I love the look of slouchy, ripped jeans (aka “boyfriend jeans”). They’re surprisingly versatile, and can be styled so many ways (really like the way Sincerely Jules wear them here). The best way to avoid looking too unkempt or sloppy (in my opinion) is to wear leg-lengthening heels (I went with neon yellow for a bit of color), as well as a more fitted piece on top, like this simple Zara blazer. These items just help introduce a little shape and structure to the outfit.

Check back tomorrow – I’ll be posting another look featuring the same pair of slouchy jeans, styled with a totally different vibe.

camo, incorporated

It’s one of those trends that comes and goes (and right now seems to be everywhere): camo. I’ve been weirdly obsessed with the trend ever since I saw the most recent J.Crew catalogue and this boyfriend fatigue jacket, chicly styled with a shimmery emerald dress and leather booties. (See it in the “looks we love” feature on the J.Crew site.) I particularly love the look of a bright color (or metallic) paired with camo.

After concluding my quest for camo, this is what I found (you can shop all the items below). I also included ideas of what to wear with such a distinctive print, to incorporate the trend subtly and stylishly into your fall wardrobe.
