I’ve always loved plaid in the form of a flannel button-up, or as the lining of a jacket — but I’d never considered plaid pants until I saw these on sale at LOFT. There are lots of similar plaids out there right now (really like this blazer and this coat, for example) – and, in my mind, it’s such a quintessential fall pattern. This darker green/blue tartan is fairly subtle, and easy enough to wear with other colors (more so than a traditional lumberjack red plaid). For this outfit, I tucked in a silky chartreuse blouse and focused on lighter accents with the cardigan and silver pumps. Though I love unexpected pattern mixing (plaid looks amazing with a leopard clutch!), I opted for a structured leather tote to complete this “off to a casual business meeting” outfit.
My next post will show a slightly edgier way to style the same plaid pants. I know, I know — really exciting stuff. You’ll be mad for plaid. Have a happy Monday!
