It snowed this weekend! And kind of a lot. I decided to take advantage of the flurries before the snow piled up and iced over (inevitable). For an afternoon shopping in Back Bay, I added some daytime sparkle with a sequin t-shirt and kept warm in a leopard coat and faux fur scarf (which is from the most unexpected of places: Restoration Hardware). Black skinny jeans and black booties keep the rest of the outfit simple – lots of dark neutrals against the pretty white snow.
Happy Friday! It’s day five of my “5 days, 5 ways” collaboration with Alvin Valley (catch the last four outfits here, here, here and here). Although it’s perfect for the office, I decided to style this jacket for dinner or drinks. Neutral black and white tweed is easy to style, but a feminine cut and slight peplum give the jacket a more interesting edge. It transitions easily from day to night with the addition of a simple black skirt and a gray t-shirt blouse. Black tights and gold embellished booties add some contrast and sparkle — which is always necessary, in my opinion.
I hope you enjoyed the series featuring Alvin Valley! I had so much fun styling all of these pieces and experimenting with some new looks. Thanks for checking it out — now go enjoy your weekend!

This week is seriously flying by – it’s already day four of my “five days, five ways” collaboration with Alvin Valley! (Find the first three outfits here, here and here.) In this post, I’m wearing a great example of the designer’s signature item: pants. The Mondrian pants in royal blue take color-blocking to the next level – with panels of color that curve to the shape of your legs. I have nothing like these pants in my own wardrobe (maybe I’m not adventurous enough), but wearing them was actually fun. They make a pretty vibrant statement.
I paired the pants with a silk bow blouse (last seen here) and topped the look with a military-style Zara coat and black pumps – to temper the vibrant colors just a little. Now have a happy Thursday, and come back tomorrow to see my fifth outfit (saving my favorite photos for last!).
