Happy Friday! As much as I love getting dressed up, I definitely appreciate comfort (during the week I wear flats/boots most of the time – not 4.5″ heels). So when I find something that strikes the perfect balance between comfortable and chic, I’m a happy camper. These pants are pretty great – not a style I’d usually want to try, but they were on sale at Nordstrom Rack and just too slinky and drape-y to resist. With a drawstring waist and zippered ankles, they’re basically fancy loungewear.

While I would totally wear the pants with flats for a more casual look, I decided to dress them up with suede pumps, a black silk tee (with sequined shoulders!) and a mod, boxy coat from Zara in the perfect orange creamicle hue. I think the structured bag and straight cut of the jacket help offset the slouchy pant/shirt combo a bit – making the outfit look more pulled-together.

Have a fabulous weekend!

On my spring wish list: a pastel structured satchel. I rounded up a few of my favorites in a rainbow of Easter candy colors (don’t they look so pretty all together?!). Some of these are really affordable, too – which is a great route to go if you want to try an unusual color without making an investment. Check out an even bigger selection of pastel bags in the “shop the post” section below!

My wish was finally granted — a break from the cold weather! This weekend was so lovely (…50 degrees felt warmer than ever). The brief stint of tropical weather was a perfect opportunity to pop on some floral prints and dress up my outfit with lots of metallic accessories. It’s pretty clear that I love rose gold — and this super shiny Ted Baker bag takes my obsession to the next level. I really like the combo of rose gold + silver (or white gold), so I threw my silver pumps into the mix — adding another reflective, eye-catching element to the outfit. A simple flared skirt and casual utilitarian jacket help to balance the light, airy blouse and create some contrast. I suppose it’s good to wait a little before fully breaking out the spring attire (after all, it’s still February).

Have a happy Monday!
