The past week has been pretty crazy – it seems like every time I’ve had a chance to sit down and work on a post, it happens to be after 1:00am and I give up in favor of bed (needless to say, I haven’t been getting much sleep). Anyways, I’ll be on vacation for the next week (!), but I’m bringing my camera and laptop along with me (can’t stay away, I guess). I’m hoping the warm weather will inspire some great outfits – and, in turn, some new content for the blog.

Anyways, back to this end-of-winter/early Spring outfit in Boston. I love the combo of ivory and bright blue – it’s classic, but feels fresh and modern with a boxy, structured jacket like this. Once again I’m sporting my new favorite jeans (they’re so comfortable you guys) – this time dressing them up with gold metallic pumps and an Equipment silk shirt that I scored at Nordstrom Rack (and it clearly needs to be steamed…oops!). I really like the unexpected pop of bright yellow — when the cuffs of the shirt peek out from under the jacket. A pseudo-tuck makes the look a bit casual and undone, and I’m all about that.

Outfit details:

Shirt: Equipment Signature silk shirt // Jacket: Zara (get it here) // Jeans: c/o AYR “the skinny” (jac’s jean wash) // Shoes: Jimmy Choo Anouk pumps (holographic gold here) // Sunglasses: Warby Parker Everett frames // Clutch: Clare Vivier // Jewelry: Alex Mika infinity ring in rose gold, Alex Mika criss cross ring (similar here)

Happy Monday! I just wanted to take a second and announce a new service I’ll be offering through City Tonic in the coming months: custom blog design! As you may already know – I work full-time as an Art Director/Designer and I have a lot of professional experience with branding and design projects. Since I’ve really enjoyed designing, coding and refining my own blog, I figured it would be fun to help out anyone in need of some design assistance.

Here’s the deal: I can work with you to start a new blog and create a brand identity – logo, color palette, custom-designed assets and more. Or I can simply provide a facelift to an existing blog. If you’re just looking for some minor design updates, I can help with that too (examples include: custom social media icons, adding an “about me” section to your sidebar, font and color tweaks, etc.). I am very comfortable working with WordPress, but can also help out (in a more limited capacity) with Squarespace blogs. Additionally, I’ll be offering branding services to help extend your blog’s identity – like business cards, stationary, e-newsletter templates and more.

If you’re interested, check out the details here and fill out the custom blog request form so I can see what you need. Thanks!

Quick little post today!

I’m really digging easy, casual layers lately. Outfits like this are great for early spring (when temperatures are totally unpredictable). This chambray shirt and leather jacket are staples in my wardrobe, so naturally I love wearing them together. With a linen graphic tee from Madewell underneath, the look is unfussy and a little more urban. And white skinnies help balance the layers on top – keeping things light.

On the topic of casual –  I think a loose side braid is the perfect styling solution on those days when your hair feels gross or flat (which mine did when I took these photos). It’s also a welcome departure from the standard ponytail.
