Happy Friday! Okay so, I got weirdly obsessed with this chambray romper when I first saw it at Madewell — which is especially funny because it looks like a shapeless drawstring sack when you see it on a hanger. But chambray is my go-to in the spring and summer (er…year-round) and I love this super soft light wash. Plus, sometimes there’s nothing better than wearing a super slouchy romper and not having to worry about putting together a complete outfit.

And it’s surprisingly versatile: keep it casual with sandals for a weekend brunch date, wear it as a beach coverup, or dress it up a little (like I did here) with graphic pumps and a bold printed clutch. Romp away.

memorial day picnic

I hope everyone had an amazing three days off! During the long weekend, I stuck around Boston instead of visiting my family on Martha’s Vineyard and ended up with a very full schedule: Friday date night, Saturday music festival, a gorgeous Sunday wedding and a Monday Funday picnic on Castle Island with two blogger friends — Laura from LoSo Fancy and Katherine from Style Tab. After some clouds and rain yesterday, the sun finally came out and gave us a chance to snap some photos and eat yummy bite-sized snacks (I was in charge of the mini caprese skewers– a Pinterest find). It was so fun to be outside, catch up with the girls and do some people-watching. Check out more photos below!

Nothing says “spring, please” quite like bright colors and a bold floral print. Recently I’ve developed a fixation with strong, vivid patterns — an area in which my wardrobe has definitely been lacking — so I was pretty excited to come across this colorful J.Crew Factory top (currently on sale!). Now that I’m settling into my new job as designer/art director for T.J.Maxx, I’ve been more inspired to dress up for work and have actually made a point of incorporating more color into my outfits daily. With an eye-catching print like this, you really only need to throw on a pair of light-washed jeans for effortlessly bright style.

Coupled with this nice stretch of spring sunshine, the colorful updates to my wardrobe definitely have me feeling more upbeat and refreshed. Funny how that happens.
