My second post with Piperlime this week is about as fool-proof as it gets. You just can’t go wrong with black on black (especially when a floppy wool hat is involved). I’m a big fan of wearing head-to-toe black, and it’s usually my go-to on those hectic mornings when I need to look pulled-together with minimal effort. But in this case, I chose to break up the solid, dark look by adding a flash of bright color – plus some texture, with this jacquard top and a python clutch. The ripped and faded black denim (my absolute favorite pair) gives the outfit a little edge and that “slightly undone” look.

P.S. Every time I wear a hat, I’m reminded of how awesome they are (and clearly the wide brim serves a purpose when it’s snowing). I’m now on the hunt for another, maybe in grey!

Although you might have heard the sad news that Piperlime is closing in April, I’m happy to be collaborating one last time with the brand on their “moments of chic” campaign. (This is part one of my collab – I have another outfit that I’ll be posting this week, too). So… while we’re FAR away from spring in Boston (i.e. we’re drowning in snow), it doesn’t hurt to break out the floral print whenever possible. In fact, it might be completely necessary to help lighten the mood. I love building off the casual look of this floral bomber and dressing it up with wild metallic heels and vegan leather leggings. It’s also great as a layering piece under a longer winter coat.

Taking these photos was particularly funny because (1) it was snowing, and (2) the sidewalks on Newbury St. were covered in ice and nasty snow/slush, yet I was wearing these cute little rainbow pumps and a floral print jacket. People were looking at me like I was crazy (I am, just a little). Ohhh, the things bloggers do for their outfit photos!

Okay, MORE snow? This winter is slowly killing me, but at least the Patriots won the Super Bowl (!!!). Anyways, since massive mountains of snow are hardly conducive to outfit photoshoots, I’m reverting to my stash of vacation photos and dreaming about warm weather and palm trees.

I brought this bright blue romper (last seen here) to Costa Rica so I could dress it down – with these cute and comfy pointed-toe espadrilles and an extra soft chambray button-down. Since I only packed one pair of heeled sandals (and only wore them once…), I ended up putting a casual spin on most of my outfits with flat sandals, Chuck Taylors or these espadrilles. Now if only someone could take me back there now.
