memorial day picnic

I hope everyone had an amazing three days off! During the long weekend, I stuck around Boston instead of visiting my family on Martha’s Vineyard and ended up with a very full schedule: Friday date night, Saturday music festival, a gorgeous Sunday wedding and a Monday Funday picnic on Castle Island with two blogger friends — Laura from LoSo Fancy and Katherine from Style Tab. After some clouds and rain yesterday, the sun finally came out and gave us a chance to snap some photos and eat yummy bite-sized snacks (I was in charge of the mini caprese skewers– a Pinterest find). It was so fun to be outside, catch up with the girls and do some people-watching. Check out more photos below!

I can’t believe it’s been a year since I started City Tonic. And what a year it’s been! The goal was to carve out my own little spot online where I could share my personal style and simply be more creative — with my wardrobe, the places I shop, my sources of inspiration and my web design/photo skills. Through persistence and hard work, City Tonic has positioned me somewhere in the vast world of fashion blogging and has opened up some really awesome opportunities. I’ve been introduced to new people and have been lucky enough to collaborate with some amazing brands and designers. I’ve made some great blogger friends this year and found inspiration to keep me going through the most awful, style-slump-inducing winter ever. Most importantly, I’ve found something that I really love doing — and I hope it shows.

I also want to mention how much I appreciate the people in my life who have supported me and shared my blog with others. Many thanks to my accommodating and talented photographers over the past year — Kev, mom, Margs. (Major love to Kev, who’s still dating me despite the fact I’m constantly on the computer and often working late into the night, long after he’s gone to bed.)

I’m excited to see how City Tonic will evolve and grow — and I promise I’ll do my best to keep it fresh and stylish. Thank you for reading!
