Back in October, I tried my first made-to-order dress from PIOL – a company that lets you create your own, in an easy-to-use online design room. After selecting your hair color, eye color and skin color, PIOL matches you with a “color aura” (in other words, a palette that’s perfectly suited to your personal coloring). You can choose from a range of dress styles, necklines, sleeves, lengths and fabrics – until you find your ideal combination. (For more details on my experience with the design process, check out my previous post on PIOL.)
This time around, I was excited to design a dress to carry me into spring. And since my head seems to be floating (endlessly) in wedding dreamland recently, I decided that a luxe pearl fabric would be perfect. In a classic fit-and-flare silhouette with a faux wrap top, this dress feels super versatile for any upcoming events (like a bridal shower, bachelorette party, etc.). It can easily be dressed up or down depending on the scenario and weather. In this case, I paired it with peach pumps, a metallic copper clutch and rose gold jewelry. A boxy black blazer in a boyish cut helps to offset the sweet, airy look – and adds some contrast. (Also, it was super windy and freeeezing.)
Check out PIOL and whip up a perfect lil’ number for spring.
