To be perfectly honest, midi skirts have always been low on my list of trends to try. They look absolutely amazing on some people, but if I’m going to wear a skirt I generally prefer one of the two extremes: mini or maxi. I guess something about this ASOS pleated midi made me reconsider. Probably the fact that it’s so simple and effortless to wear, but still feels chic (…and the price was great).
I decided to go fairly low-key with the rest of the outfit: a neutral cotton cami that coordinated perfectly with my beloved rockstud pumps (to add a hint of sparkle), plus a statement necklace and leopard clutch. After these photos, I changed into neutral sandals (this pair of Jack Rogers) and threw on a distressed denim jacket for a quick trip to Whole Foods. A few simple switches transformed the look completely and made me feel like this was actually a trend I could incorporate into my style repertoire after all. What do you think?
