Hope you had a lovely week/weekend (and I’m sorry for my lack of posting last week… was in NYC for work!). Anyways, I’m back in action – working on some gift guides, holiday party shopping tips and a few wintry outfits to post in the next few weeks.
Today’s post is all about keeping it neutral (but still interesting). With monochromatic neutral outfits like this one, I usually try to mix cool tones (like the gray of my pants & top) with warmer tones (the camel coat) – so there’s still some dimension. To anchor the look and add a little contrast, I wore white pumps and an ivory wool hat. Since it’s easy to fall into a pattern of dressing in dark grays and blacks when it’s chilly out, I wanted to keep the outfit lighter but still maintain the effortless and chic look of a neutral palette.
I’ve been on the hunt for a perfect camel coat for awhile now, and finally ended up buying this one from Zara after a stylish coworker of mine did (I couldn’t help it… it was just what I had been looking for!). Anyways, I’ve been wearing it quite a bit recently since it makes every outfit feel a little more sophisticated (it topped off the black ripped jean/black sweater/chelsea boot combo I wore most of the time I was in New York).
