When I was younger, I always felt cheated at the end of July when “back to school” commercials would begin airing on TV — and, of course, fall collections would emerge in stores and online. It was a cruel reminder that summer would be over soon. Now I love this transitional period between summer and fall — and I’m totally ready to start dressing for my favorite season.

To gear up for autumn, I worked with the ladies of Crush Boutique to style some outfits that can be worn now (while it’s still summery) into the fall. If you’re not familiar, Crush has stores on Charles St. in Beacon Hill, and Newbury St. in Back Bay. Both locations are FULL of an amazing selection of dresses, denim, accessories and everything in between (think: hand-picked pieces from Shoshanna, Parker, Amanda Uprichard, Tracy Reese, J Brand and House of Harlow… to name a few). Basically, you can’t go wrong at Crush — especially if you’re shopping for a special event (the dress selection is unreal).

This outfit is full-on fall, but my favorite piece — the flirty Rory Beca cami — can totally be worn now, paired with structured shorts or cut-offs (if you want to go casual). Or worn with white denim and heeled sandals. This fall, wear it with skinny jeans and Frye booties. Or tucked into a black pencil skirt, with classic black leather pumps. Really, the options are endless. If you’re in the area, stop by Crush (all of these items are available in the store, plus they’re having a great summer sale right now) — or check out their online shop. I’m really excited to share the other outfits we styled, so check back soon!
